great game and lovely pixel art. you did an incredible job with the mood, scenery, and art. really had a wonderful time playing this game. 1 puzzle was difficult but had a blast figuring them out. my partner and i played the game together and we both enjoyed it. looking forward in playing part 2
The Midnight Scenes series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. As a huge fan of The Twilight Zone, I deeply appreciate the homage paid to the show by Octavi Navarro. While the episodes are a bit short, the atmosphere & pixel style were amazing & the scares were effective. For those wondering, each episode is about 30 mins long. I enjoyed it so much that I played Episode 1 & 2 on my Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/470995658 Thanks so much for the game & keep up the great work!
Took me a few more minutes than I'd like to admit to understand the game mechanics, but I had a lot of fun with this. Everything- but especially the music- immediately calls The Twilight Zone to mind, and that made the game so much more enjoyable for me. Thanks for making this available on Mac, and I hope to see more!
I loved this Twilight zone homage game! At least.... it felt like an homage lol. This was so cool and I'd love to see more added to it if you feel like it.
such a wonderful well made point and click adventure game, the atmosphere is superb, the riddles not to hard and the graphics are well done. A Gem in the Indie Game Industry.
Thank you for this.
Worth to play....I made a Walkthrough in German
PS: on a note, i also played your game The Librarian, which falls in the same category, already a classic in my collection :)
Absolutely adored this! Really got the best creepy vibes from this game and loved the pacing of it. This episode makes me crave more! Glad there is a second episode and I will definitely recommend this to everyone!
Short and sweet. I liked the world you crafted here. It took me a few moments to realize the cursor highlighted on objects you could interact with. lol. Looking forward to playing the second episode one day in the future.
Hi there! I'm sorry you're having issues running the game. I think it might be because it needs DirectX 11.1 which isn't compatible with Win7. Fortunately Microsoft released a patch to solve this problem:
This made me realize how old Win7 is and so I upgraded to Win10. The good news is the game runs now. But the bad news is that it runs so slow in VirtualBox it's not playable. Oh well. We're a Linux-only house here. Thanks for your help though.
I have an update for this. I was able to play Midnight Scenes Ep.1 on Ubuntu 18.04 with wine 3.0 and it worked perfectly. Interestingly, it wouldn't start at all on the same system with Proton 3.7 or 4.2. Possibly some config issues. The machine also has NVidia GTX 860M.
The cutscene is fine, as is the field with scarecrow and truck, and home in the beginning. However the screen where she leaves the car and cuts the wire is just purple apart from the sprites. Can't see anything else
This game was really interesting, the visuals were great and the story had a nice build up. Not to mention that the sound track fits really well with the overall atmosphere of the game. Keep up the great work man, can't wait to try out more of these!
Hi There I just played your game it was truly a nice experience for me to play. I really liked the Twilight Zone story setting that you put into this game and along with it's soundtrack as well. Overall this game was fantastic, and I hope you make more games just like this one
Hi! I wonder if you are interested in localizing the game into other languages like Chinese? I'm a grad student studying Translation and Localization in Middlebury Institute of International Studies, and would very much like to internationalize and localize Midnight Scene for free as a school project!
Enjoyed the game, it was nice and short, I didn't spend forever wandering around trying to figure out what to do, and I liked the Twilight Zone-like atmosphere you set. 8/10
Thoroughly delightful game! Enjoyed every second of it even if it did make me jump a couple of times! Great atmosphere created from the soundtrack and the art style was just stunning! Can't wait to play episode 2! :D
This game was really good! I enjoyed the simple puzzles the game offered and I also appreciated the eerie atmosphere throughout the play through. I was constantly asking "what happened?" and "what's going on?" Not many mainstream games in this specific genre do that for me and it was nice seeing a game from an indie dev accomplish this. If you are having doubts about playing this game, I'm telling you that you don't have to worry about it. I recommend you play this game. It'll be worth it!

Awesome. Loved the retro feel, the thick atmosphere and the building mystery.
Keep them coming.
It looks really cool, when can I get a Linux build so I can play it?
+1
Amazing mood!
As everybody has said, it's very much like "The Twilight Zone". It's short and not difficult, but wonderfully atmospheric.

This game won't run on Windows 7 with DirectX 11 installed. It complains that it needs DirectX 9.0c or later. Any ideas?

Just to let you know, I still use Windows 7 and the game runs perfect on it. I think you need to install the provided patch.
